Where the data comes from
About
Where this data comes from, what is in it, and what is not.
The source
Every notice comes from the UK Contracts Finder official open-data feed, published under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We read that feed directly, with no scraping of web pages, no login, no captcha.
The feed is pulled fresh. The figures below are from the most recent pull.
| Published in the last 7 days | Count |
|---|---|
| Notices | 696 |
| Buying organisations | 232 |
| With a published buyer email | 696 |
| With a published contract value | 648 |
What is in it
The contract title and description, the buying organisation and its published contact details, the contract value, the CPV industry codes, the deadline, the delivery locations, whether the buyer flagged the contract suitable for SMEs, and a link to the official notice.
What is not in it
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland publish on their own services, so they are not here. Tender documents sit on each buyer's own e-tendering system, usually behind a supplier login, so follow the official notice link for those.
The contact details are the buyer's published ones. They are not enriched or verified, and they are not a substitute for checking the notice itself. A small share of notices (around 4% in the current pull) list an e-tendering platform or an agency as the contact rather than the buyer directly. Those are marked by the address itself, and the buyer name is always on the record.
Data and privacy
These notices are published by public bodies under the Open Government Licence v3.0, which permits reuse including commercially. The contact address on a notice is published so that suppliers can make contact about that procurement.
Each record says whether its address is a role mailbox or a named individual, so you can prefer the role addresses. The full rules for using this feed, and what you are responsible for under UK GDPR and PECR, are on the acceptable use page.
How the trades work
Each notice is filed into a trade using the CPV code the buyer published, which is the only signal that does not need guesswork. A notice with no usable CPV code is filed by matching words in its title, and lands in "Other services" if nothing matches.
